Discover Cold Wax and Oil: An Introduction
Please join me in this discovery and play-filled 3-day workshop where you will learn the basics of working with cold wax medium and oil paint. This class leans towards abstract work however, still life and landscape are options as well.
There will be exploration and the technique of working with cwm, the process of mixing oil paint and cold wax to finishing your work, playing with layering and mark-making while focusing on color and composition.
We will be working on Arches Oil Paper. We will do quick color studies each morning to begin our creative play, then we will start building our layers working on several pieces simultaneously. We will discover how mark-making works with cwm and how layering develops luminosity in the work.
There is a non-refundable $50 registration fee. Cancellation policy: A full refund minus a $50 handling fee will be issued with a cancellation at least 15 days before the workshop if your spot is filled with another participant. You may transfer your registration to another person, but you must notify us with the new name & email. A cancellation 30 days or less before the workshop date is non-refundable. If a workshop is canceled due to illness, Covid, or circumstances beyond our control, the entire amount paid will be refunded within 10 days from the date of cancellation. But let's cross our fingers that won't happen!
Once you sign up, and pay your registration/handling fee, you will receive a welcome/confirmation email which will include all the information that you will need to get excited for the upcoming workshop as well as information for lodging, restaurants, and directions. The material list will also be included.
You will be invoiced for the balance of $325 on August 18th with the balance due on September 1st.
